You'll find that sometimes there's a change that you'd like to implement, but the change impacts various other departments. As a rule of thumb, you should ensure that everyone that's impacted by a change you're implementing, should be made aware ASAP! Because you never know what outcome of even the slightest change may be. So, you should always get feedback and input from all departments before any changes.

Change control meetings are designed to do just that. Hosted regularly, these change control meetings can prove to be very effective in keeping everyone in the loop of what's going on.
